NOISE MAPPING, A USEFUL TOOL FOR URBAN PLANNING –CASE STUDY, ALBA IULIA, ROMANIA
Keywords:
noise pollution, noise mappingAbstract
The road traffic noise is the main source of noise pollution, posing a major threat to the quality of life. Noise mapping is a useful tool for urban planning, as it can be used to assess traffic management alternatives, in order to reduce the level of noise. This study aims to compare the results of noise modelling using a technique based on the traffic flow in a particular area with the results of noise measurements conducted in the same area and in the same period of time, in order to assess the accuracy of noise modelling.
